Una de las increíbles ventajas que te ofrece esta era Digital es que tienes el poder de utilizar los recursos que te ofrece internet para tu crecimiento, y no solo para encontrar formas de entretenerte.
He tenido la suerte de poder vivir en esa transición a un mundo más conectado ( en el que tienes miles de oportunidades a unos cuantos clicks) aun recuerdo los días de colegio en los cuales para realizar una tarea escolar era necesario ir a una biblioteca y buscar entre miles y miles de libros, días en los que las tareas no se hacían en un par de horas sino días o en semanas.. Años después (era mediados o finales de los 90’) cuando (oh si!) apareció la enciclopedia Encarta, un programa que se instalaba en tu computadora y tenia unos cuantos CD’s con información, creo que era la inovación del momento, vaya que uno se sentía en otro mundo cuando logras hacer una investigación en un par de horas y no se diga cuando al fin podias conectarte a internet, aun recuerdo el sonido de mi computadora conectándose a internet y claro escuchar a mi papa decir “solo un ratito porque pueden llamar por teléfono” , por si no sabían antes tenias que conectarte a internet con el mismo cablecito del teléfono, qué días aquellos, creo que las nuevas generaciones no tendrían la paciencia que se tenía en esa época, en la que cargar un sitio web te demoraba una eternidad…
Ya varios años han pasado de esos tiempos y ni se diga todo lo que puedes hacer hoy en día con la tecnología, hoy quiero enfocarme en los cursos en línea y es que, a mi parecer, desde la creación del internet me parece que el poder aprender lo que sea en línea es una de las mejores cosas qué podemos hacer… hoy en día existen varios sitios en los cuales puedes realizar cursos, ya sea que quiere reforzar un área específica o si quieres aprender algo totalmente nuevo, yo utilizo no solo los cursos sino también los audiolibros como medio para enriquecer mi conocimiento (los audiolibros son mis compañeros perfectos en los tráficos ), yo he realizado varios cursos en línea, por el momento solamente he realizado cursos cortos no maestrias o algo más sofisticado, y te puedo decir qué es lo mejor que puedes hacer ya que te permiten tener tu propio horario y tu propio ritmo de aprendizaje, en las maestrías generalmente tienes un periodo de tiempo el cual completar tareas y exámenes aun así tienes la ventaja de estar cómodamente en tu casa tomando clases; hoy en dia y por cómo la tecnología va cambiando y habilitando cosas que antes no podías hacer también obliga a las empresas a pensar diferente y adaptarse ya que muchas empresas (creo que para nuestros países latinoamericanos aún falta mucho en esa área) le dan tanta importancia a los cursos y certificaciones en línea como a los títulos obtenidos en una institución educativa “de la vieja escuela”
Aparte de las ventajas en cuanto a horarios y ubicación al tomar este tipo de cursos o estudios considero que son mucho más retadores que los cursos presenciales ya que muchas veces el vencer a nuestra amiga la pereza es mucho más difícil que asistir a un lugar físico a tomar clases, así que si te animas a tomar un curso en modalidad en línea debes estar totalmente consciente que debes tener una gran dedicación y fuerza de voluntad también debes de buscar información de los cursos que te interesan ya que muchas veces te pueden ofrecer un curso que no cumpla con tus expectativas o que sea de un nivel más bajo de lo que te interesa por eso siempre es bueno realizar una pequeña búsqueda y sobre todo mirar los comentarios qué otros estudiantes han hecho y si es posible escribirles y preguntarles antes, asi te cercioras que ese curso es lo que estás buscando y asi tu tiempo y dinero no sean malgastados, en algunos casos como Cursera te permiten realizar algunos cursos en modo auditor o espectador el cual te permite ver el contenido del curso gratis y posteriormente, si así lo deseas, puedes pagar para obtener un certificado que avala lo que aprendes en el curso, a mi en lo personal me gusta utilizar esa opción porque de esa forma veo si realmente el contenido es lo que estoy buscando, otras opciones que generalmente ofrecen este tipo de plataformas es el reembolso del dinero si no es de tu agrado el contenido, generalmente es por un periodo de 30 días por lo que al registrarte a un curso siempre es bueno dar un vistazo general al contenido.
Como conclusión te puedo decir por experiencia que los cursos en línea no son una pérdida de tiempo ni de dinero pero tienes que tener en cuenta que: debes investigar bien el contenido del cursos para estar segur@ qué es eso lo que estás buscando también debes tener disciplina y ponerte horarios y metas a cumplir en la semana ya que si no te exiges tu mismo nadie más lo va a hacer y en ese caso sí podría llegar a ser una perdida de dinero, por último te dejo un listado de plataformas que suelo utilizar para realizar cursos en línea

Several years have passed since those days and not even say everything you can do today with technology, in this moment I want to focus on online courses, in my opinion, since the creation of the internet, I think, that the power you have to learn whatever is one of the best things we can do ... today there are several places where you can take courses, whether you want to reinforce a specific area or if you want to learn something totally new, I use not only the courses but also audiobooks as a means to enrich my knowledge (audiobooks are my perfect partner in traffic)
I have taken several online courses, at the moment I have only taken short courses, non-master courses or something more sophisticated, and I can tell you what is the best thing you can do since they allow you to have your own schedule and your own learning path, in masters you usually have a period of time to complete tasks and tests, but still have the advantage of being comfortably at home taking classes; Nowadays, and because of how technology is changing and enabling things that you couldn't do before, technology forces companies to think differently (I think that for our Latin American countries there is still a lot to do in that area) and give it so much importance to online courses and certifications as to the degrees obtained in an educational institution "the old school".
Apart from the advantages in terms of schedules and location when taking this type of courses or studies, I consider that they are much more challenging than face-to-face courses, since many times to beat our friend the laziness is much more difficult than attending a physical place. So if you dare to take a course in online mode you must be fully aware that you must have a great dedication and willpower, you should also look for information about the courses that interest you since many times they can offer you a course that doesn’t meet your expectations or that is of a lower level than you are interested, it is always a good idea to perform a small search and especially look at the comments that other students have made and if it is possible write and ask them before, so you make sure that the course is what you are looking for and so your time and money are not wasted, in some cases like Cursera allow you to take some courses in mode auditor or spectator which allows you to see the content of the course for free and later, if you wish, you can pay to obtain a certificate, I personally like to use that option because in that way I see if the content is really what I am looking for, other options that generally offer this type of platforms is the refund of the money if you do not like the content, it is usually for a period of 30 days so when you register for a course It is always a good idea to take a general look at the content.
